I’m a little behind on blog posts since my website has been undergoing a makeover, but I thought you might like to you know that I was recently interviewed and featured in the Designer Spotlight of WSI Designer Marketplace. If you’re not familiar with WSI Designer Marketplace, it’s the Design Blog for Williams Sonoma, Inc., the corporation that owns well known subsidiary brands including Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, PBTeen, West Elm, Rejuvenation, William Sonoma, Cultivate, and the newest addition, Mark and Graham.
It’s always exciting and flattering to be interviewed and then see your interview in print, but what made this particular interview special was that it was an interview about ME! Not just asking for my opinion about design or home selling like I’ve had the opportunity to participate in before, but it was recognition of me as a Designer! I was thrilled to see my mug featured on their Facebook page, their home page and then in their email newsletter. I was so excited, I took a screen shot of it as a momento…gotta savor these “first” moments!
What’s really fun about this is that they have interviewed other Designers that I admire and look to for inspiration as mentors. They just published an interview with Sarah Richardson, they’ve featured Taniya Nayak, Jeff Andrews, and Antonio Ballatore! So, I’m honored to be included in the line-up…soo cool!!!
Oh, and can I just say… I was recently included in a tweet that included other HGTV Designers that I also admire…David Bromstadt, Taniya Nayak and Sabrina Soto. I screen captured it to show you. Am I being a little dorky? Perhaps… but this whole experience has been a total pinch me moment and I never dreamed being the HGTV addict I’ve been all these years, that I will be part of the line-up…surreal!
I would love your feedback and thoughts. Has something like this happened to you? How did you handle it? Please leave your comments below.
